Middletown, Conn. — The MxCC Foundation will host its annual 5K run/walk, now the Middlesex Monster Dash, on Friday, Oct. 16, at 5:30 p.m., bringing a Halloween-themed evening of fitness, fun and fundraising to the CT State Middlesex campus.
The event will feature a 5K race certified by O2 Event Productions along the tree-lined roads near the scenic reservoirs surrounding the campus (100 Training Hill Road, Middletown), as well as a kids fun run, trunk-or-treat, balloon animals and DJ entertainment. Costumes are optional.
Whether participants are serious runners or casual walkers, every mile helps make college more accessible for deserving Middlesex students. Proceeds support scholarships and academic program development through the MxCC Foundation.
Entry fees are $25 for the 5K run/walk and $20 for students. (Register as a participant here.) Those who cannot participate can support the event through a non-runner donation of any amount.
Medals will be awarded to the overall male, female and nonbinary champions, as well as top finishers in each division. Winners will be announced online following the race.

A Presenting Sponsor at the $4,000 level receives a vendor table, company name and logo on the finish line banner, logo placement on the front of runner T-shirts and eight complimentary 5K entries.
Mile Marker Sponsors at $1,000 can sponsor mile 1, 2 or 3 and receive prominent signage plus six complimentary entries.
Champion Sponsors at $500 receive signage along the course and four entries, while Course Sponsors at $200 receive two entries and Pacesetter Sponsors at $100 receive one entry. Individuals and organizations can also become Friend Sponsors with gifts of up to $99.
As a show of gratitude, all sponsors are listed online and on race day T-shirts.
